Flowers Fowers Flowers

North Wall

Our Azaleas are blooming at last a little slow March was a very cold month.   Last year my whole  yard was full of blooms in March.  This is North wall of this out door "room".  Azaleas and Camellia make up all walls.  I like the fact that Camellias are evergreen and we have something blooming in winter.

West wall

I stared this blog a month or more ago however I have a hard time organizing my pictures.  This is one thing that  I dislike about H. P. computers. They think they know what is best for you.  They have a company to collect your pictures when you unload your camera.   I  did not know what happened to them.  Well they were up in outer space.  I have finally been able to have them in folders for a little while before they empty the folders.  I agree with them saving  my computer space.  I have finally learned how to find all of them.

East Wall
I have a south Wall  however I can not find those pictures.  It has rained so much and immediately take my  they may be in one of the great oceans.  I have 3 walls of .Azaleas  and Camellias.
That red Azaleas beside the white one is suppose to be  the same kind.  We bought them at the same time and same place. I will have to replace it.

I had this ground cover however it died  it  really made a pretty show when it bloomed.  I bought this one  From Wayside Garden.  i still do not have my red white and blue.  I order them last night . I  am planting it in front of my bird bath.

                                                                    Tulip Tree

If you zoom this picture and make it large you will see a bloom.  I usually  take a picture when this tree is in bloom.  However I almost miss it this year  When people settled in Tennessee  the tulip tree was plentiful.  Since it was soft wood it made it  easier to build their homes.  That made the tree harder to find.

This is one of the blooms that has fallen on the ground.

This arbor was given to me by Debbie and Tafta.  I sure  Ken helped out also.  Both Clematis are on the Arbor.  Hens and Chicks are in the pot.  I bought them from Brecks nursery.  I bought 7 six packs from Wayside garden and they are a lot bigger.  If the ground ever dries up I will get them planted.  They will be the flowers for my Fairy Garden.

These  Iris bloomed since my last post.  I do have a few more to open.

I want to thank you  for reading my blogs and watching my Garden grow and bloom    I should have a lot more blooms soon.  I hope you are growing a flower  garden of your own.  When you plant remember  the Monarch  Butterfly.  They are in trouble.  When I was a child  almost everyone had some kind of  flowers.  My Grand Mother always had I big bed of Zinnias back then we called them Old Maids.  If you drive around you will not see that in most places today. Building homes and highways have taken a lot of the wild flowers.  When you buy look for the butterfly sign.  Have your children and Grand Children to help and tell them you are feeding the butterflies. Happy gardening to you all summer from Carrel and I Juanita.

Iris have Began to Blooml

When we go out to look a the  Carrel takes the clippers and dead heads.  This helps to keep your garden fresh.  I take my camera,  my children and Carrel me together about five Christmas ago.   So that I could keep a history of my garden on F.B. and my blog.   I want to have them a book printed but I have not found  who does it.  I try to put a picture on of him as much as I can so you will see my main helper.  T do not want mine in it ,that I am the camera man.

This is the way April began,  March was one of the wettest months I have seen in about 50 years. It rained then for 2 weeks it was cold and wet.  However you expect that in December.

My Iris looked good and was really showing out.  But the wind laid some down.  These are older Iris and only bloom once.  We love to see them unfold.

This is really a pretty Iris,  how ever before it opened I was not sure,  the bottom was all that showed .  It looked like the inside of a dirty cow feed sack.  I milked a cow when I was younger.  And chose sacks I could make everyday play clothes from.  On the left  what you see is the under side and ruffle and I thought it was going to be ugly.  Carrel came in and said I think you will be surprised with your ugly Iris. The picture on the right shows you the bottom and the color of the ruffle.

This blue one has been Carrels'  favorite  Iris over the years.   There was a lot of them but over half  died.  They are in a raised bed so they will drain well,  however  we just had too much water that year. I have lost a lot of my old ones.  I will keep shopping Carrel loves to plant.  Yes, Carrel only loves to read.

Here is another new Iris I bought last year.  It has an orange center, you can barely see it .  I bought two sets of seven and planted one  set in my yard and divided one set with Debbie and Charlotte.

This is older than the rest I planted it in 2008,  It has been a faithful bloomer.  A young man was working for me in 2016.  We  divided this Iris  I gave some to him and his mother-in-law.

.

I was not sure I  would like this one, it was such a light color,  I like brighter color However I think after looking  at all of them together  they balance   themselves out.

Carrel watched this Iris thinking it would be like  the blue he likes so well.  However it was not I like , it is bright.  One of the new ones Carrel planted last year.

I thought this Iris looked good with the darker orange beard.  We planted this some years ago,  however this is the first it has bloomed.

Charlotte may have given me this Iris.  She gave me a lot of then but some just died on me.   Iris likes dry places not to be water a lot put no water on top of the root and let it stay long.  Most flowers need water about every 4 to 5 days.  If they become too dry they send their tender roots to the top to find water and the sun  will burn them.  I am planting more flowers this year that will live with less water I hope.

When this Iris first began to open I just knew it was my black one.   All most the bottom is so dark it looks black. The ruffle has a lot of dark purple in it.

Charlotte gave these two plus many more,  however too much water rotted most.  I am not going to complain about having a lot of rain, to much.  I have Lady blogger I read and thank goodness she reads my blog.  She lives in Kansas and has such little rain,  they have to water from rain barrels.  I am so amazed and thrilled to be able to see her lovely garden.  Almost like visiting but I do not have to dress up.  If I have any more Iris to bloom this spring I will put them on another blog.
I thank you for reading my blog and watching my garden grow and bloom.  And  hope you have one of you own.   Happy gardening from Carrel from the garden.
